Its been a long day with the sun up high in the sky. The weather so good and the place so fresh in our eyes craving for something new. It may be a long road to take but our thirst for new adventure cries in the midst of our minds. And now we shall take our journey....

As we traveled from the city to the place where it literally started, SOGOD, we found a small town full of wonders and natural beauty. The word  " sogod "comes from the place where white sand is STARTING to appear according to Lumads. It is a 3-hour ride from the city.

The moment we stopped by the heart of Sogod , we were amazed by the fact where their municipal hall is located; on a hill. The municipal hall is big, modernized yet with a vintage touch. Equipped with facilities that can serve the people.

Beside the municipal hall is the police station to ensure the safety of the people, rural health center for free medicine and other health concerns, and the ambulance at the ready for emergency needs.

Alongside the road you will find these barangays namely Bawo, from the name of the fish, Poblacion, the center of the whole municipality, Ibabao from the word itself which means uphill, Bagatayam from the words " bagat" and "ayam" which means "meet" and "hunter" Simply put, Bagatayam is the place where hunters meet. Lastly, Barangay Damolog where the roads have shifted into a two-way path where one road leads to Tabuelan and the other one to Borbon.

To the people of Sogod, faith is very important than other stuffs. Their church was named after St. James the Apostle. It is located at Brgy. Ibabao with long steps in order to get there. Up there you will witness the beauty of the seas and the sky.

The Sogod festival is called Panagsogod festival. Held every 25th of July to celebrate their history and in honor of St. James the Apostle. Unfortunately for us we did not make it to the festival. But here is a link to see what it looks like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lyfb7ODqHIg

On our way to seek exciting sites and unusual taste for new discovery, we found what the people in Sogod call Bagatayam Falls. A natural beauty we ought to bring memories surely. We followed where the water came from and we were amazed and enchanted by the answer.

Binaliw springs somehow holds a mysterious feeling when you get there. It is where the water from the falls came from. Many people believe that the water there has these healing powers that can heal the sick if they put there faith there. The spring there has a grotto of the virgin Mary. Few rules and regulations should be followed there for they consider the place as holy grounds.
